The blue hour , the time after sunset, when the sky is still blue, but the sunlight is already gone, unfolds a special atmosphere in the neighborhoods of Baku. In contrast to the city center, where lights are everywhere and you can easily read a book at night sitting on a bench at Fountain Square, these neighborhoods don’t have street lamps. The only sources of light are lit windows, small shops with their open doors and outside light bulbs and headlights of cars.
While the white light of energy saving lamps enforces the cold blue of the late evening sky, the often yellowish, warm color of windows and open doors complement the cold blue and the little shops become welcoming havens in the dark. They create a stage of light on which the daily ordinary life in Azerbaijan such as a passer-by is displayed.

very beautiful pictures, I’ve also been finding out that Baku has a special light when the sun goes down.
B for Baku, blue and BIHUA!
